Charlotte Remodeling Project - Do You Know if Your Home has Lead Paint or Asbestos?

Charlotte lead paint testing from Get The Lead Out. Are you remodeling a Charlotte home that was built prior to 1978?  If you are, do you know the new rules for remodeling a house that may have lead paint or asbestos?  Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children.

Get The Lead Out® is a supporter and proponent of having EPA-certified construction and renovation companies work on your home’s remodeling project if they will disturb lead paint!  Under the current EPA rule, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

If you are a homeowner performing renovation, repair, or painting work in your own home, EPA's rule does not cover your project. However, you have the ultimate responsibility for the safety of your family or children in your care!
